EUROPEAN CORN BORER STUDY (retired)

European Corn Borer Study

The European Corn Borer (ECB) Study examined biological versus chemical means of European corn borer suppression. The experiment was conducted at the LTER Main Site and consisted of three treatments: Bt corn (T1), non-GMO corn with insecticide application (T2), and a control of non-GMO corn with no insecticide application (T3). Plots were 5 x 30 m and replicated in 4 randomized blocks. The study was established in 2000 and retired after the 2004 harvest.
