Forest DBH - Raw Data — Main Cropping System Experiment (MCSE)

Data in the KBS LTER core database may not be published without written permission of the lead investigator or project director Full terms of use

The raw DBH (tree diameter at breast height) values from the forested sites, diameters are measured at 4 points along the trunk.

This datatable is part of the Forest Increment Survey dataset. In 1998, a new protocol was instituted for measuring the diameters of every tree greater than 5 cm dbh in the coniferous and deciduous forest plots. Trees are usually measured in January. Exponential equations are used to estimate tree mass for each year. The goal is to estimate wood production for any given time period (usually one year) as the difference between two estimates of mass.
