Archived plant samples collected at harvest were analyzed for phosphorus content by the MSU Soil and Plant Nutrient Laboratory.
This datatable is part of the Phospohorus Balance in Long Term Agricultural Ecosystems dataset.
Phosphorus (P) budgets for cropping systems show whether there is a net surplus or deficit, which relates to the sustainability of production as well as the potential for P export, a major driver of eutrophication. We analyzed P inputs (fertilization and atmospheric deposition) and outputs (harvest and leaching losses) over seven years at the Main Cropping System Experiment (MCSE)
